Drew Lawson knows basketball is taking him places. It has to, because his grades certainly aren't. But lately his plan has run squarely into a pick. Coach's new offense has made another player a star, and Drew won't let anyone disrespect his game. Just as his team makes the playoffs, Drew must come up with something big to save his fading college prospects. It's all up to Drew to find out just how deep his game really is.
Normally I don't pick up books like Game, but, in this case, I'm glad I did. I was surprised to find that I actually enjoyed it!
The book revolved around the 'white vs. black' thing, which really made me mad at first. Once I was able to shove that out of my mind and just make it player vs. player, it was an enjoyable read. If you don't understand basketball, he takes time to explain the lingo and you catch on soon enough.
It was an interesting read and, though I probably normally wouldn't pick up a book like this, I'm glad I did. I really liked it once I sat down and read it.
Overall Rating: 8/10
Game or ...?: I haven't read another book like Game yet, but maybe I should...
Happy reading!
