Heart's BloodAuthor: Jane Yolen
Series: The Pit Dragon (#2)
Publisher: Magic Carpet Books
How Received: library
Jakkin risks everything--his freedom, his dragon, even his life--to rescue his beloved in this stirring sequel to Dragon's Blood.
Heart's Blood, the second novel in the Pit Chronicle trilogy, was as enjoyable as the first one, but not as believable.
I enjoyed the plot line of this book just as much as in Dragon's Blood, but the relationship between Jakkin and Akki wasn't very believable - the love for dragon and master between Jakkin and Heart's Blood was something much, much more believable.
Overall Rating & Final Comments: 8/10. So much of the book centered on Akki and Jakkin's feelings for one another that didn't seem right that it kind of ruined part of the book for me.
Dragon's Blood or Dragonflight?: The relationships in Dragonflight are much more believable than those in Dragon's Blood, and both plot lines are equally enjoyable. The society in Dragon's Blood is easier, in my opinion, to understand than the society in Dragonflight, though.
Happy reading!
