How Received: library
When she is sent as part of the delegation from Tortall to negotiate a peace treaty with Carthak, fifteen-year-old Daine must use her powers to communicate with animals for more than healing the Carthak emperor's dying birds.
It's the only story without Daine's horse, Cloud, so far, and I kind of missed her presence. The novel, however, was just as well written as the others, even - once again - if the plot line was not completely original. I enjoyed it like I did before... and, what's to say? Nothing's changed for me. No complaints, but nothing to cheer about ridiculously, either. It's just a good book.
Overall Rating: 8/10
Wild Magic or Magyk?: From what I remember when I read Magyk a long time ago, I absolutely adored it, compared to Wild Magic, where I just liked it a lot. So I'd have to say Magyk.
Happy reading!

I think this is my favorite series of Tamora Pierce's. I also really liked the Trickster series...but the plot felt a little rushed because there were only two books in that series.
