Living Dead Girl

Living Dead Girl
Author: Elizabeth Scott
Series: ---
Publisher: Simon Pulse
How Received: ARC

"Once upon a time, I was a little girl who disappeared.
Once upon a time, my name was not Alice.
Once upon a time, I didn't know how lucky I was."
When Alice was ten, Ray took her away from her family, her friends -- her life. She learned to give up all power, to endure all pain. She waited for the nightmare to be over.
Now Alice is fifteen and Ray still has her, but he speaks more and more of her death. He does not know it is what she longs for. She does not know he has something more terrifying than death in mind for her.

Wow. Just... wow. Props to an author who knows how to write serious material in a way that's interesting and captivating. Living Dead Girl definitely has a spot to stay on my shelf.
This is Alice's story. It is one you have never heard, and one you will never, ever forget.

Wow. I read the description and picked it up and... I couldn't put it down. (And my mother can affirm to that. "Nicki? Go do the dishes!" "LET ME FINISH MY BOOK!")

The writing isn't detailed, but it's not vague. It's honest and heart catching and, as it's written through Alice's POV, it's perfect. The story and plot line itself is heart breaking, but with it's ending, it's... well, perfect... and really opens your eyes.

Let's say that, for me, the story was pretty much perfect for the subject matter that Elizabeth chose. ^^

Overall Rating: 10/10 with a spot for my permanently kept books on my shelf
Living Dead Girl or ...?: I'm too lazy to figure out a comparison right now because I can't think of one off of the top of my head.

Living Dead Girl comes out in September - you can find more information at Elizabeth's website [link].

Happy reading!

  1. So I got this book in the mail and my stepmother freaked. She thinks it shouldn't be read by teens and she is so judging me for wanting to read it...
