This is me not feeling well, so I'm going to procrastinate my homework by finally getting this review up. (What me not feeling well has to do with me procrastinating my homework involves the fact that I can't concentrate. Hehe. ^^")
After Pirates of the Caribbean, I'm sure everybody has fantasized about sailing the high seas as a pirate. Well, Jacky Faber ain't exactly a pirate...
But we love her anyway.
One of my favorite series EVER. Jacky is such an original, quirky character - you can't help but love her. You don't sense any repetition in the characters; each one is their own. The plot line is original and funny, the description vivid, the historical facts accurate. Jacky grows during the book, too, she just doesn't "seem" to grow.
I really need to buy this series...
Rating: 10/10!!!!!!!
Happy reading!

ReplyDeleteYay, another fan! The series overall is amazing, although it does have it's low points, IMHO. *cough*In the Belly of the Bloodhound*cough* :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Nicole, doesn't it feel good when someone reads a book on YOUR suggestion? I read Bloody jack and The Curse of The Blue Tattoo a couple of days ago on urs, and i liked them. Unfortunatly my library has only the first three books :'(.In The Blue Tattoo, i thought it was slightly like when Ella (in Ella Enchanted) has to go to finishing school, but the similarities ended there. I thought that Jack went slightly overboard when she tries to seuce Randall and then gets drunk (albiet by Clarissa). Excellent books!
ReplyDeleteI lovelovelove these books. I've been reading them ever since 2004, when the first book came out. Every year I look forward to the newest addition to the series (:
