Maximum Ride is a perfectly normal teenager who just happens to be able to fly, the result of an out-of-control government experiment.
Max and the other members of the Flock-six kids who share her remarkable ability-have been asked to aid a group of environmental scientists studying the causes of global warming. The expedition seems like a perfect combination of adventure, activism--and escaping government forces who watch the Flock like a hawk.
But even in Antarctica, trapped in the harshest weather on our planet, Maximum Ride is an irresistible target in constant danger. For whoever controls her powers could also control the world. Maximum Ride is James Patterson's greatest character, a heroine who manages to be human and fearless at once.
James! What happened to my nice thick books? This one was, like, half that size and crammed with more odder things then the other three! There had better be a next one, and it had better live up to the other three, because this one didn't.
Still love Max.
Still love the flock.
Still want wings.
What I don't still do, however, is love the book. It was a bit all over the place, and, as it was shorter then the rest of the books, it didn't explain the oddest bits fully.
I want a next book.
I just don't want a next book that was like this book.
Overall Rating: 6/10.
Happy reading.

I feel the same way you do! I loved the first three books of this series, but the fourth book felt uneccessary and it just did not live up to par of the previous books. I still loved the characters, but I didn't like the book that much.
ReplyDeletei was really disappointed in this one. i agree, it just felt like an add-on and it was way too repetitive for such a short story
ReplyDeleteThis one was a let down, but after this I think there's Max, Fang and Angel, none of which I've had time to read, but there is more after this book.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I want wings too!
