Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
I promised I wouldn't do spoilers.
I won't.
But...
It. Is. As. Good. As. The. First. One. I was smart when I didn't start it until I knew I would have a chance to read it straight through - I wasn't able to put it down. Suzanne Collins has written another fiery, brilliant novel whose amazingness can't be described in words.
Y'all are just gonna have to read it for yourselves.
Overall Rating: 10/10
The Hunger Games or Bloody Jack?: Both.
Still squeeing and wanting Suzanne Collins to get the next book out NOW.

ReplyDeleteSeptember is so far away
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous you've read it, but so happy it's as good as THG. I can't wait for this book!
ReplyDeleteWHOA!!! If you get this, answer ONE question for me...I'm probably misinterpreting this, but when you say Peeta and Katniss are back in the Games, what does that mean?? Is it just a phrase? Or is it literal!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteThey're, literally, back in the Games. You'll see how.
I can't wait to read it..I'm glad you said it's as good as the good one, cuz I hate when the second book sucks
ReplyDeleteI seriously hate you right now. I need to read this book sooo bad! I'm glad to know that it didn't turn out to be one of the many miserable sequels out there. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are SO lucky! I'd die if I got an ARC of this book. The Hunger Games was definitely one of my favorite books I've ever read. So glad you seemed to like it as much as the first!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite books/series that I've ever read! :) Great review!
ReplyDelete..... I NEED TO HAVE IT!! my mom wont let me :(
ReplyDeleteHmm, I disagree. I think that the plot wasn't nearly as original as the first. It felt...contrived. Also, there was way too much angst with Peeta and Katniss. Not that it was a bad book, but it was by no means a perfect one.
