Tricks
Author: Ellen Hopkins
Series: ---
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
How Received: library

Three are girls. Two are guys.
Three are straight. One is bi. One is gay.
Rich. Poor. Good family. Bad family.

What they don't expect, though, is all that can happen when those powerful little words "I love you" are said for all the wrong reasons.

There's nothing I can say about Ellen Hopkins or her books that haven't been said before. She takes a subject so rarely touched on, with characters so often frowned upon, and makes them not only readable, but sympathize-able and relate-able.

Tricks or Crank?: Read them both. They're completely worth it.
Overall Rating & Final Comments: 10/10. Go read it.
Cover Notes: Not my favorite.

  1. This book was amazing. Did you know that 3 of these stories were based on real people? That broke my heart, finding that out.

  6. Ellen's books should be required reading for teenagers, don't you think? They speak to the heart of these important issues in such a truthful, heartfelt way and somehow still manage to be optimistic. I don't know how she does it, but I continue to be amazed her talent and dedication.
