Oi Vey

I'm reading The Pale Assassin right now and I'm about halfway through. I'm trying to get through it, I really can - I like the concept of the book.

The characters-writing style-plot? Er. Not so much.

But I WILL finish it. I do kind of want to know what happens. Kind of...


Have you ever had that happen with a book?

  1. Frequently! I have a real problem with characters who are TSTL (too stupid to live). One that I am reading but struggling through is the series by Alyson Noel. I think my problem there is mostly plot -- nothing seems to happen.

  2. Aw, man! I just checked that one out at the library last week; I haven't gotten around to it yet. Oh well.

  3. I had the same experience with that very book. I wanted to like it since I love The Scarlet Pimpernel, but I really wish someone had cut about 100 pages from the first half. Boring! I finished, but it took a long time.
