I'm a sucker for regency novels.
And corsets.
And balls.
And tall, dark, and handsome boys with a sense of humor. (Hence why Ash from The Iron King doesn't fall under this category. *teasing smile*)

The Season hit a home run for all three.

Yes, the love line is predictable. If I was looking for an uncertain love line, I would have reread The Hunger Games. I was looking for a fun historical read with a cute guy.

Gavin is more than cute - he's smart, sexy, *happy sigh*. I know exactly the moment I fell for him -

"There's only one way to save you from them today."

"Oh?" The single syllable was all she could manage. Had he always been this broad? This tall? Had his eyes always been such a dark, smoky grey?

"Come riding with me."

*happy sigh* Oh, Gavin.

I love all of the characters, too - they were fun to read about. Alex's brothers were particularly entertaining.

Favorite line?

Now she understood what everyone meant when they talked about romance... this feeling had launched the thousand ships of the Trojan Wars, this feeling had sent Guinevere into the arms of Lancelot, this feeling had driven Fitzwilliam Darcy to confess his love for Elizabeth Bennett.

Okay, I just reread that and it seems just like a happy ramble.

Things I Didn't Like: As with most regency novels, the love line is predictable, but this is ignorable.

What I Did Like: The entire novel was well written; the characters were entertaining and easy to relate to; the little hints dropped about who the murderers were were just enough to keep you one step ahead of Alex, and I loved that.

Overall Rating & Final Comments: 10/10. Yes, it's predictable, but it has fantastic characters and is an amazingly fun read.
Cover Comments: I'll have a Final Fronts on this cover later, but it fits the characters so very well.
