Friday Fronts - Look Alikes (1)

I love finding covers that look alike. And I don't mean, "Oh, hey, they used the same stock photo!" I mean that have the same layout, principal, cover scheme - but with different pictures.

Deception by Lee Nichols and Possessions by Nancy Holder are two such books.

Two girls, hair flying, right hand side of cover. Both wearing pretty awesome necklaces. Author name in bottom left hand corner. Smoke effects. Creepy, big house in the background. Purple names done really pretty on upper top half.

I think I prefer the Deception cover overall, though I love the model on the Possessions cover.

  1. Ooh...hard to say! They do look similar, but since I've read POSSESSIONS (and the sequel) I can honestly say the cover is perfect for the book itself. DECEPTION is in the TBR right now...have to get back to ya on that one. Thanks for the share...and good find!

  2. I like the deception photo more also. It looks more natural with a softer look. The Possessions photo looks kinda like they cut and pasted the girl over the background, but didn't quite make the color scheme match to make it look authentic.

  3. I really prefer the cover of Deception. It looks more creepy to me and I would pick that one up if I saw it at a bookstore.

  4. I like Deception's cover better! I think it's because the girl is staring straight ahead. Sort of daring you to buy the book.

  5. I like the Deception cover slightly more, but both are lovely and surprisingly similar. :)

  7. This is really similar to Alea's lookalikes feature - are you working with her to make sure you guys don't double up on covers?

What do you have to say, my fellow bookworms?
