Vessel
Author: Sarah Beth Durst
Series: ---
Release Date: 2012
In a desert land where serpents made of unbreakable glass fly through the sky and wolves made of only sand hunt within storms, Liyana is destined to be a vessel, to sacrifice herself so that her clan's goddess can inhabit her body... but her goddess never comes.
Let's take a look at a couple of things: one, it's a standalone fantasy novel.
Two, the plot sounds absolutely BRILLIANT.
Three, it's written by Sarah Beth Durst, who is quickly climbing the ranks as one of my favorite authors.
Four, the cover is GORGEOUS and ties in BEAUTIFULLY to the story. You can read more about the cover here.
Honestly, I need this story in my life now. September seems so far away.

Um, yes please. We recently read Girl of Fire and Thorns which has some similarities to this, and we loved that, so this is definitely jumping on our TBR list. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteTotally new to me!

ReplyDeleteI love Enchanted Ivy and can't wait to get my hands on Vessel. Thank you for sharing! :)
Vessel's cover is one of my favorites this year. So gorgeous. The story sounds really unique, too! Great choice!
ReplyDeleteI really, really want this book! Thhis is going on my preorder list.
ReplyDeleteI like Sarah Beth Durst books. I'm waiting for this one too.
ReplyDeleteA Standalone fantasy? That's worth reading just for this. That, plus the cover and story and characters--I'm so there.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds great! And the fact that it's a standalone fantasy is nice (but if the story is great and she wants to write another book, I don't mind :p)
