If this story was about anything other than fairytales, I'd be up in arms about this cover -- submissive, looks dead, stereotypical.
But this works really, really well with the subject matter -- a retelling of several traditional fairytales in one cohesive story -- and I love it. For that, it suits it really well. The font, the dress, the flowers, the decorative elaboration on around the title.
It reminds me a lot of Disney's Alice in Wonderland, actually -- which works well for this cover!
(Also, that dress? Could it be in my closet, please?)

I do love the cover! But I wish I had like the story more. Boo.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good cover. I think it's a bit weird that the top portion is bright with flowers, while the girl is so dark. Other than that I think it's a pretty cover.
ReplyDeleteYou're exactly right about the cover and plot working together; my only thing is that I wish this dress were a color, just my personal preference.
