Once upon a time, in the middle of the golden age known as The Ninth Grade, Nicole was at the height of her vampire obsession. Everything she talked about revolved around books, around fangs, about neck nomming.
Her mother was the receiver of most of these conversations, and as patient as a person as she is, even she could not stand it after months on end. In frustration, she turned to her daughter. "Why don't you just start a blog about it!?"
And so WORD for Teens was born.
"This was probably one of the first blogs I followed when I started book blogging and I've hung onto it ever since. It's kind of like my security blankie. I'm just comforted to know it's there. She offers such great content that's neither overwhelming nor scant and I consider it one of the best YA book blogs on the internet. From excellent reviews to thought-provoking discussion posts, this is a blog that other bloggers should emulate." - Donna at Bites
"I truly admire your sass and smarts. And you clearly have a devoted following of readers, which is no surprise for such a warm, thoughtful, and funny blog." - Katie Williams
"This is one of the most professional, put together sites I've visited. You do a fantastic job with it." - L.J. Charles

Hi! I'm Nicole. I'm a peppy nineteen year old girl who happens to absolutely adore books. Right now, I'm a sophomore at SUNY New Paltz double majoring in Journalism: Public Relations and English. Hopefully I'll be a publicist one day.
I'm in a committed relationship with a boy who loves to read, though he prefers classic novels to young adult literature. (He did love Libba Bray's Beauty Queens, though.) If you see me mention #CuteEnglishMajorBoy on Twitter, that's him.
Besides that, there's not much to know. I love Broadway. Johnny Depp and Richard Armitage are possibly the sexiest men on the planet. Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel give eargasms. Doctor Who is FANTASTIC. My dorm room theme is lime green and sky blue - and lots of orange thrown in. I'm a pretty open person - anything you need to know about me you can find here on WORD. If you have a question, just ask!
If you want to get to know me more, you can stalk me on my Tumblr. I like Tumblr. Tumblr is fun.
"Nicole: just thought I would say that I love WORD. You are so fun to read and I love that I am not the only book nerd out there. Thank you for all you do!! - Addy
"I found your blog through The Story Siren and I am really enjoying it. It's nice to see another New Yorker on the net. Thanks again for your fun blog." - Pam
"I love your honesty and passion." - Ty Roth
"I'm a big fan of both your blog and your witty tweets." - Stacy Kramer
"I’m just blown away by the quality and relevance of your site." - Jessi
